ROHANY ("Roe") KARYA

Rohany received her Baccalaureate Degree in Economics from the University of South Florida and her Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law. During law school, she completed an externship program in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and interned for the Co-Investigating Judges at the ECCC. Her experience at the United Nations tribunal was not only rewarding professionally but also personally. Rohany feels triumphant in assisting the legal team in prosecuting the alleged perpetrators responsible for killing millions of innocent people during the Khmer Rouge regime, including members of her own family.

She also participated in Coastal’s Immigrant Rights Clinic where she assisted several clients on various immigration issues. As an immigrant advocate, she helped organized the national Citizenship Day Event at Florida Coastal School of Law and interned for the Refugee/Immigration Program at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid. Rohany enjoys being actively involved with her community and has helped organized several community events. Rohany was previously an active member with the Jacksonville Asian American Bar Association and held Board Membership with the Mayor’s Asian American Advisory Board and Night of Asia Organization. Rohany is also multilingual and can speak four (4) languages.
